AltaGas - Analyst, Project Controls
You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, where you'll be at the forefront of creating integrated schedules, developing and tracking project costs, and monitoring performance against plans. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in identifying and communicating areas of concern, ensuring our projects stay on track and within budget. You Will:

Work with the project team to develop, update and control project plans, schedules, milestones and reporting in conformance with project requirements, and establish baseline documents to provide on-going monitoring

Responsible for project setup on our accounting system, including development of appropriate WBS, budget and cash spend outlook, and staffing plan for execution

Lead on project controls support, including project planning, cost controls, schedule management, forecast and analysis, and closeout

Development of project specific cost workbooks for tracking all procurement and contract commitments, invoices and change orders for cost tracking, variance reporting and cash flow forecasting

Create and maintain integrated schedules for all materials, equipment, and services starting from project development through to project closure

Monitor and control the project change management procedure and initiate preparation of forecasts to support change management, including maintaining the change log, tracking the status and expediting sign-off of all project change notices

Prepare monthly project accruals and cash spend forecasts

Support project managers on generate weekly and monthly project financial summary reports, ad hoc reports and presentations including cost, schedule and safety and environment data as required

Liaise with various groups within the company including but not limited to Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, and Operations

Work with external vendors on getting timely and accurate construction reporting

Review invoicing for accuracy, validity and proper coding in conjunction with associated budgets to ensure sufficient funds are in place to cover all invoices and that disputed and holdback amounts are properly handled. Obtain approval for, enter and submit to Accounts Payable, as well as ensure appropriate documentation of all invoices
You Have:

5+ years of financial project cost control, forecasting, and financial analysis experience

Proficiency with scheduling software, including Microsoft Projects and Primavera

Experience with Oracle JD Edwards – Project Costing is an asset

Ability to travel to project locations within Canada

Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities

Experience with scheduling and estimating is an asset

Energy industry experience preferred
