What You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT technical lead roles in global organizations.
  • Strong background in development, quality assurance, management, and control processes.
  • Expert application knowledge in the financial sector (large financial institutions, financial arms of insurance companies, and credit bureaus) is a must-have.
  • Have experience and passionate about leveraging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency to enable business objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding on how to align IT strategies with business objectives.
  • Technical expertise in development and QA of full technology stack especially back-end, batch. Good understanding of infrastructure, data, InfoSec, Operations.
  • Good understanding in Cloud and Data technologies and their practical applications is a definite asset.
  • Strong people leadership in a technical capacity (attract, grow, and retain)
  • Highly analytical and problem-solving skills. Hands on experience in application production support.
  • Ability to work during off regular office hours to enable collaboration across global teams, and for production issue management or implementation support.

Impact You'll Make:

This role will lead the technology work required for product and platform solutions delivered via agile/scrum or traditional/hybrid SDLC methodology. In this role, you will provide direction and guidance for development and quality assurance teams to ensure that all technical deliverables meet the highest quality standards, enabling 99.99% uptime.   

This role will work closely with product managers and product owners to understand business requirements, product features and expected outcomes (revenue, customer/client satisfaction, data) and able to guide development and QA team to deliver the right efficient solutions.

Critical to success will be strong technical expertise, ability to align with overall architecture & design, translate business requirements to technical needs, develop efficient and good quality solutions.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership to scrum and project teams to ensure proper solution is defined and adhered to.
  • Liaise with business and technical stakeholders to ensure proper priority in addressing technical debt. Provide direction to delivery teams to ensure they are addressed in the most efficient manner (group related components).
  • Provide high level estimates on delivery work effort (development and QA, implementation, and post implementation support).
  • Ensure adherence to coding, testing standards and best practices by the development team.
  • Provide technical guidance and directions to QA team to ensure proper automation, testing, control, and reporting processes are in place. Building of regression test bed (environment with data for required use cases).
  • Act as escalation point for scrum/project teams on functional, technical, quality, timeline challenges.
  • Responsible for the technical aspect of releases end to end ensuring all parties engaged and aligned such as Infra/Ops, InfoSec, and Operations/UAT.  This includes obtaining timely approval at various gates, code review, testing, operational readiness.
  • Ensure the test and production environments is aligned and in sync and ability to meet the critical product release/implementation deadline.
  • Engage in the daily huddle, and regular leadership status meeting.
  • Establish the production support cadence, review ongoing operations, and rectify any issues.
  • Understand how company’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies, processes, and tools to enhance development and QA capabilities.
  • Ensure agile best practices are applied to technical development and QA work.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
