Job Description Summary:

The Advisor of Leadership Development is responsible for building, facilitating and delivering our world class development programs across our vast and growing healthcare system with the vision of “creating more effective leaders who are building a healthy, human-centered workplace so our people can thrive both in and out of work.” The advisor will be responsible for program oversight, design, and logistics support of all programs with a specific focus on our monthly Leadership Learning Forums. The advisor researches and studies industry trends and leading thought practices to consistently create new, relevant and timely content to support leaders. The Advisor is also responsible for over-seeing a leader-as-teacher facilitator pool. This includes recruiting and or vetting internal talent to help facilitate our leadership content and programs and the on-going training and evaluation of facilitators to ensure high quality and consistent experiences in all our offerings. The Advisor will collaborate with other Leadership Academy and Organizational Effectiveness team-members on all content creation and delivery to ensure alignment and consistency in all offerings. The Advisor also steps in to facilitate both system programs and/or special custom, intact team experiences with a wide variety of leadership audiences and levels both in person and virtually. This Hybrid Advisor role will work remotely and on-site as needed, and is an integral member of the Leadership Development/Talent Management team that is dedicated to creating next generation leadership capabilities within OhioHealth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Adult Learning, Education, Development, Healthcare Administration
Years of experience: 5 - 7

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Degree in adult learning, education, development, healthcare administration, clinical area, or related field. Demonstrated Experience in leadership development strategies, facilitator development, adult learning, experiential learning, consultation, project management and coaching. Minimum 5 to 7 years recent experience in adult learning in a large, complex organization; successful track record of managing key stakeholders at all career levels (associate through executive). Experience delivering leadership development content and programs. Experience leveraging proven facilitation techniques for group learning and discussions, including active listening, role modeling of key skills or behaviors, giving and receiving group and individual feedback, coaching of group breakout activities, peer to peer coaching, etc. Fluent English skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Organizational and time management skills, including classroom coordination and management. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an ambiguous work environment.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

Master's Degree preferred. Experience with leadership development, creating, facilitating and delivering virtual and in-person content to various classroom sizes. Experience with/in all or most of these: Facilitating learning programs with leaders of all levels, Virtual classroom facilitation, Adult classroom training and Business presentation. Program and project management, Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment. Coaching and/or assessment certification (e. g. ICF, GROW, MBTI, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Responsible for program oversight, design, and logistics of Leadership Learning Forum program that supports the development of leaders throughout the system. Creates monthly session calendar, coordinates facilitator coverage, and communicates with system leaders.

 

Leads Facilitator Development program that recruits, develops, and engages leader-as-teacher facilitator pool. This includes periodic evaluation and feedback to facilitators, ensuring high quality consistent facilitation of all Leadership Development programs.

 

This role will focus on content creation strategy and execution of Leadership Academy offerings. This includes leading content brainstorms with the Leadership Development team, meeting with key stakeholders, researching market trends and analysis and providing thought partnership to generate educational experiences that develop fully human leaders.

 

Coaches OhioHealth leaders to achieve individual and team success. Facilitates leadership development programs for first time leaders to high potential executive talent.

 

This role needs to remain knowledgeable about all existing content and program offerings and be prepared to facilitate as needed. This role will also be responsible to continuous help develop and facilitate new, creative and personalized content for teams. While facilitating: Leverages a variety of instructional, facilitation and presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles, Leverages both learning content and business acumen to facilitate learnings and meaningful dialogue with participants for programs, Manages learning environment and adapts instructional style for audience, Participates in and/or helps conduct train-the-trainer sessions, Maintains relationships; contact and communicate with learning participants and cohorts for coaching, follow-up and stability of blended learning completions, Ensures learning content is delivered as designed and makes specific recommendations to continually improve the content and design.

 

Tracks, analyzes, and reports on participation trends, survey results and total program success. Contributes to the overall success of the Leadership Academy by identifying ways to continuously improve the learning process and enhance learning effectiveness. Advises on industry, system changes and trends to identify learning needs and solutions.
