POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the LRD Training Supervisor and is responsible for coordinating, developing, delivering, and supporting training activities across all departments at the Marathon Garyville Refinery. Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects that engage a diverse workforce in active learning. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, technical expertise, self-motivation, a commitment to continuous learning (with a focus on media arts), and the ability to work with and inspire others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with employees, leaders, and subject matter experts to identify training needs.
- Coordinate and schedule training programs at the refinery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality classes that meet customer requests and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the LMS Administrator to input and audit training records within MPC’s Learning Management System.
- Review and update training content at required intervals to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs, including curricula, lesson plans, and testing standards, to enhance employee performance and development.
- Apply instructional design principles to develop and refine existing training programs and classroom experiences.
- Deliver training through various methods, including instructor-led sessions and e-learning.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs from the learner’s perspective, striving to foster a culture of continuous learning within the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- 5 years Refining or Chemical Plant (or related industry) Experience is required.
- MS Office Suite and computer proficiency is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- A Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
