About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our network systems and infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our network, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud networking. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot networking hardware, software, and services to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:Network Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Manage and maintain network connectivity, ensuring high availability and performance of the LAN/WAN.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to network outages, latency, and connectivity.
- Implement and maintain network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN).
- Configure and manage network segmentation, routing, and network address translation (NAT).
Network Security Management
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and take corrective actions.
- Conduct regular security audits and implement security patches and updates for network systems.
- Manage user access controls, ensuring that network resources are secure and only authorized personnel have access.
Network Troubleshooting and Support
- Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, slow performance, and configuration issues.
- Respond to network incidents and outages, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to business operations.
- Provide technical support to internal teams, helping with network-related issues and queries.
- Perform root cause analysis for network problems and work to prevent recurrence.
Network Configuration and Monitoring
- Configure and manage network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) to track network performance and health.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, bandwidth usage, and performance metrics to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Maintain network diagrams and documentation of network architecture, configurations, and standards.
- Regularly test network components and services to ensure optimal performance.
Network Upgrades and Maintenance
- Plan and implement network upgrades, including hardware, software, and firmware updates.
- Schedule regular maintenance windows to apply patches, perform updates, and ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to source, install, and upgrade network hardware and software as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of network hardware and software.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Develop and implement network backup strategies, ensuring the recovery of network configurations and critical data in case of failure.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for network infrastructure.
- Test backup and recovery procedures to ensure the availability and integrity of network data.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of network systems, configurations, and changes.
- Document troubleshooting steps, incidents, and resolutions for future reference.
- Provide reports on network performance, security incidents, and system uptime.
- Create and update network policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with best practices and internal standards.
Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., systems administrators, security teams, and cloud infrastructure teams) to ensure seamless integration of network systems.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members and internal staff on network best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist with the deployment of network-related projects and initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions that could enhance performance or reduce costs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network efficiency, security, and reliability.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in network administration or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Proven experience with network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, MPLS, and IPSEC.
- Strong knowledge of network security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Experience with network configuration management and scripting tools (e.g., Ansible, Python).
- Knowledge of IP routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, RIP).
- Experience with network security tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and network virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of wireless networking standards (e.g., Wi-Fi, 802.11).
- Experience with network design, topology, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work with network vendors and service providers.

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

- Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) or similar network certifications.
- ITIL Foundation or similar IT management certifications
