Job Description
In this role, you will be part of the Group Risk team that reports to the Head of Actuarial.
This team will also work closely with the Commercial Solutions function which is responsible for strategic actuarial management. The role will help deliver and communicate the results and associated insights for TDA’s Group Risk business, which is the largest in the Australian market.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support transformation activities to enhance the productivity, efficiency and operational risk of the valuation processes.
- Support the quality assurance and governance requirements for the production valuation models, including overseeing all changes that flow through the valuation process and managing UAT.
- Support wider Finance deliverables such as the long-term plan.
- Support wider product and pricing deliverables such as new products, product enhancements, repricing and retention initiatives.
- Support the valuation process for the TDA Group Risk business. This includes the execution of valuation models to deliver monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual performance reporting across statutory and management reports. Deliver these to timetable deadlines and within materiality limits.
- Support continual improvement in the Group Risk valuation reporting functions, across processes, systems, data, models and people.
- Support insightful analysis into actual and forecast results, that feeds back into proposed management actions to enhance the business. This includes insights into emerging experience and trends, risk and portfolio dynamics.
Qualifications
You will have Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial studies, Mathematics, Finance or related discipline and making good progress through actuarial exams (IAAust or equivalent). You will also have prior experience in the life insurance industry and preferably in financial
reporting and/or modelling.
You will have also have:
- Strong Prophet modelling skills
- Good time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex issues
- High attention to detail
- Strong initiative
- Strong Excel skills, including VBA
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Good understanding of databases and SQL
