The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's accounts receivable process, including maintaining healthy cash flow by monitoring outstanding balances, implementing strategies to collect overdue debts and managing a team of professionals who handle collections, credit management and the timely and accurate application of customer payments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, preferred.

Experience: 5 years of accounting experience in accounts receivable collections. Proven experience in leading and managing a team.

Travel: None

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and manages a team of AR specialists, assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and providing coaching to ensure efficient operations
  • Prioritizes and manages difficult accounts, working closely with experienced collections staff.
  • Establishes and executes collection strategies to proactively contact customers with outstanding balances and escalates overdue accounts to appropriate channels. Interacts with other internal departments regularly to provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Works with internal departments on setting up customers on payment plans, sends final demand letters, and manages accounts sent to collection agencies. Supports the legal team, as needed.
  • Ensures accurate and timely application of customer payments to their respective accounts, including reconciling discrepancies and resolving issues. 
  • Generates comprehensive AR reports to monitor key metrics like aging receivables, collection rates, and bad debt, while making recommendations to improve overall collections based on industry best practices.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers by addressing inquiries, providing timely updates on account status, and assist in resolving billing disputes. 
  • Prioritizes tasks, meets deadlines, and sets expectations for the team to manage a high volume of transactions. 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
