JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager oversees and assists in the processing of daily transactions and interactions with customers in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Lead, manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Ensures the recording of ipayments sent from customers through various channels.
- Ensures changes on client accounts i is done on a timely basis.
- Maintain and develop relationships with both existing clients and the onboarding of new ones.
- Receiving, researching and resolving a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account status.
- Assist in the investigation and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied cash transactions.
- Complete month-end, quarter-end and year end closing activities.
- Ensures accounting transactions are recorded appropriately.
- Special and ongoing projects as required.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- EXPERIENCE: 4-6 years of proven working experience as Accounting Manager with basic accounting functions and billing functions; some experience with Netsuite and/or Salesforce preferred but not required. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results. Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of general accounting functions and practices
- Knowledge of accounting software principles
- Computer literate with proficiency in Excel
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Diplomatic negotiation and conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts
- Ability to learn quickly, retain and apply knowledge
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented, good judgment and logical decision-making ability with a hands-on approach to assigned tasks
- Superior data management and data analysis skills
- Ability to direct and supervise
