Organon, as a Women’s Health company leads its business for Europe East & Israel region compromising of 20 markets through a cluster organization called EEI cluster. Finance is an integral part of the cluster team with an agile structure with all finance members of the team reporting directly to the Finance Director. This enables flexible team settings depending on tasks, eases resource allocation, and creates development opportunities. The Senior Specialist works together with the other team members in charge of EEI finance activities.
The Senior Specialist is responsible for the activities for Bulgaria as core market. A smaller market could be also part of the scope of the role. In this role, he/she has responsibility for the US GAAP and local GAAP results with key focus on the local entities. This includes all accounting, tax, treasury and internal control related matters performed locally or through partner teams (e.g. GDO, CoE, VAT, transfer pricing). In Bulgaria statutory work is supported by local third party and must be coordinated..
Organon has been investing resources into Bulgaria in 2022, 2023 and will continue in 2024. This is driving an increase in activities, and as a result the needs for financial & accounting support have increased. There are also regulatory, pharmaco-vigilance and other regional functions in this market.
In addition to that each accounting lead in the team has a cluster level responsibility in the area of risk assurance, finance projects, alliance management, OTC, external statutory partners, etc. The allocation of these activities depends on the actual team set-up and interests-capabilities. The final scope of this role is therefore shaped based on alignment across the finance team.
Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for accurate and compliant results in the Bulgarian entity for US GAAP and local GAAP (UGB). Activities managed in collaboration with the GDOs and CoEs include:

Preparing and closing of books on a monthly basis
-
Inventory and asset management
-
All related treasury activities
-
All relevant tax activities
-
Activities linked to responsibilities include:

Yearly closing of statutory books incl management report
-
Supporting transfer pricing documentation and tax filings
-
Supporting audits of public accounting firms
-
Preparation of tax filings
-
Coordination of statutory work with EY Contact point for local tax authorities and internal audit teams Assist the GDO Shared Services organization to solve StS related issues, and facilitate/guide local StS activity owners Apply SOX and non-SOX controls to local processes and generate oversight of overall control environment for the entity(ies) Assist in maintaining the new ERP (SAP HANA), rolled out mid 2023 Cluster level responsibility for one of the finance areas as risk assurance, finance projects, alliance management, OTC, external statutory partners

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

Master or Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting and at least 5 years of experience in Accounting.

Local GAAP qualification as chartered accountant
-
Experience of working in collaboration with a shared service center
-
Fluent in Bulgarian and English (proficiency level)

Several years of experience in accounting and in international settings

Demonstrates understanding of national and regional finance and tax laws, regulations, requirements and standards (i.e. Local GAAP, US GAAP) and applies them to ensure financial integrity of the business and financial statements.

Good SAP knowledge

Very good MS Office skills (mainly Excel)

Experience in Bulgarian Tax Law

Solid knowledge of SOX controls and internal controls in general. High level of integrity and compliance.

Pro-active, entrepreneurial, goal-oriented and hands-on approach; accustomed to working independently and self-organized.

Open mindset and flexile workstyle. Open to work in flexible and flat (no hierarchy) teams.
