The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with the organization’s accounting standards. Additionally, this position will lead General Accounting Specialists.
What does a day in the life as an Accounting Supervisor look like?
- Oversee the day-to-day financial activities of the organization
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Prepare monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including ‘Flux analysis’ variance reports
- Oversee the reconciliation of accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain a well-organized record of financial transactions and supporting documentation
- Lead and mentor a team of general accounting specialists by fostering a collaborative environment and providing professional development to all team members
- Ensure compliance with the organization’s accounting standards, policies, and relevant regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits as needed
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes for increased efficiency
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings
- Ensure the collection of financial report needs and systems for the organization
- Create processes and procedures that ensures alignment of the organization’s accounting books to IFRSs and US GAAP
- Handles BIR and all tax-related compliance and investigations; prepare timely and accurate tax filing and remittance of tax obligation
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
- Meets or exceeds performance targets for related KPI’s Continuously improves knowledge of products, services, and processes by participating in training programs and continuous learning modules
- Collaborates with other departments as needed to resolve customer issues
- Maintains a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
What are the required qualifications for an Accounting Supervisor?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- CPA is required
- 4+ years of experience in a Accounting and Bookkeeping
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Solid understanding and ability to execute financial statistics and accounting principles
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using computers and various software applications
- Must be willing to work onsite at The Hideout, Clark, Pampanga if needed
