In this remote role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, performing bank reconciliations, managing balance sheet account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining our financial integrity and supporting our overall business operations.
Pay: $60K - $70K annually
Shift: 8:00am – 5:00pm CST
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Accounting Management:
- Meet deadlines as outlined in the monthly close calendar.
- Prepare and distribute the daily cash position.
- Perform bank reconciliations for non-primary bank accounts.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Manage general ledger entries and ensure accuracy.
- Assist with accounts payable processes and billing.
- Handle sales tax and income tax return preparation and filing.
- Record Transactions: Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions into the general ledger, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and adjustments.
- Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile all general ledger accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and sub-ledgers, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses from the general ledger to management and other stakeholders.
- Account Analysis: Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accurate balances and help identify any issues or discrepancies.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting materials related to the general ledger.
Payroll Support:
- Prepare biweekly payroll, including expense reimbursements, commissions, PTO payouts, and other ad hoc payments.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll-related issues for new hires and terminations.
- Ensure accurate garnishment and pro-rata PTO setup.
- Verify 401k contributions and loan payments against VOYA reports.
- Maintain accurate system records with proper projects and tasks for employees.
- Conduct new hire training on time entry.
- Prepare and submit periodic state forms related to payroll information.
- Prepare and submit quarterly tax reports not supported by the payroll vendor.
Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries related to payroll.
- Ensure the payroll vendor provides quarterly tax packages.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Support 401k annual census, 401k annual audit, and workers' compensation audits.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have general ledger experience, bank and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, SAP, Oracle, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Paylocity.
- Being in CST is a huge plus!
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and organized individual.
- Ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Minimum Required Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- 3 -5 years of accounting experience required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Two-Year Degree preferred.
- Experience in a Professional Services or Managed Services environment.
