Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Specialist to join our team in Aventura, United States. As an integral part of our Accounting & Finance department, you will be responsible for managing various financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting operations.

  • Process and code invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare and post journal entries, support schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management review
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships and resolving outstanding issues
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members to implement process improvements and drive accounting efficiencies
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with AP workflow systems (e.g., Transcend)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with reconciliation applications (e.g., Blackline) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains/Dynamics F&O is preferred
  • Industry experience in entertainment, live events, or travel is desirable
