We are currently looking for an enthusiastic commercially focused Accounting Specialist to join our Finance department in Amsterdam.

Accounting Specialist - EMEA
About the Role:
As Accounting Specialist within the Lifestyle Division EMEA you will be responsible for the Financial Month Close, Reporting and Risk Control and will play a key role in optimizing processes within the Finance team. The Accounting Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Finance and Controlling and is closely working with the Business Analysis Team and Shared Service Centers in Hungary and India.
What You Will Do:
- Financial Month End Close process preparation of monthly journals in regards of accruals and provisions.
- Financial statement review and variance analysis.
- Provide Balance sheet reconciliations and proactively follow up on action items.
- Providing timely, accurate Reporting to stakeholders; Corporate Finance, Global BU Controllers and Treasury.
- Initiates and supports process improvement projects.
- Cooperates with Shared Service transactional processing and General Ledger Accounting teams to safeguard accurate and consistent accounting.
- Keeps Control Documents updated and is go to person for Internal and External Auditors for the controls within the area of responsibility.
- Maintenance & compliance with procedures and looking for process improvements.
What You Need:
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance or related fields.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in an international finance/ controlling function.
- Strong accounting background, IFRS knowledge.
- Strong analytical skills, especially in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Living in the Netherlands.
What is Nice to Have:
- Professional Qualification (ACCA/CPA/CMA/RA)
- Knowledge and experience with financial systems, SAP, and BPC.
- Knowledge and experience within the retail or consumer electronics markets.
- Experience with Qlik.
- Audit experience at a Big 4 company.
- Knowledge of other European language (Dutch, German, French, etc.)
