ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Accounting Operations Analyst offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and efficiency in accounting processes, perform month-end close responsibilities, and analyze and report financial details. They will be expected to assist in accounting transactions and implement an automation strategy to optimize accounting processes, reduce manual work and minimize errors. The Accounting Operations Analyst must be a critical thinker, analytical, energetic and possess a strong attention to detail. This role interacts with several Apex teams, including Billing, Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, Client Service, Operations, Compliance and Technology. The ideal candidate is expected to independently solve complex problems on behalf of themselves and other team members, help recommend and implement ideas that improve the overall group performance, train other team members, and perform review of internal control processes.
Duties/Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for automating repetitive tasks, such as data entry, reconciliation, and report generation. Develop and implement workflow automation solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in financial reporting, audit, and compliance.

Develop and manage data integration processes to ensure seamless data flow across accounting systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure that automated processes produce accurate and reliable financial data.

Train accounting team members on the use of automation tools, ensuring that the team is proficient in using these technologies.

Build and maintain comprehensive documentation of automation solutions, processes, internal control and configurations.

Extracting data from various sources, transforming it into a structured for suitable format, and loading it into a target database or warehouse.

Automating daily tasks using the ETL Tools.

Manage external APIs & Flat File that connect to our internal and external finance tools.

Assist with the implementation of integrations between critical technology solutions into our Accounting/Finance offering.

Collaborate with team members and leadership, implementing significant support processes, procedures, and documentation.

Identify opportunities for business enablement through intelligent use of technology.

Deploy custom technology to interconnect data throughout the finance department.

Evaluate and recommending new software platforms and services.

Assist as needed in accounting functions encompassing monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing and reporting processes.
Education and/or Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
-
3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related operational roles.
-
1+ years of development experience in the following programming languages: Python, HTML
-
Experience with SQL and No-SQL databases
-
Experience with ETL Framework
-
Experience utilizing APIs & Flat Files to integrate custom solutions from SaaS offerings.

Experience with ticketing platforms
Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency in M365 (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Knowledge of design, development, and data linkages inside RDBMS and file data stores for MS SQL Server databases (CSV, XML, JSON, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate constructively within the department and the firm

Excellent attention to detail, an exceptionally high degree of initiative and adaptability, and the ability to multi-task

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Ability to work with numerous and conflicting deadlines

Ability to perform many complex and confidential tasks with speed and accuracy

Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems
Other Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Netsuite or similar GL systems.

Experience with Automation tools such as Skyvia, Celigo and Alteryx etc. or willingness to learn

Experience in the financial institution sector
