Job Overview: Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the maintenance of accurate and timely financial records for Mintel's global operations. You will assist the finance team in various financial processes, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the financial planning and reporting activities.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Account Payables and Account Receivables team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while leading and developing team members.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Contribute to identifying potential areas for process and systems improvements.
- Support the year-end audit process by providing supporting documentation and assistance as needed.
- Support monthly close activities, including assisting with journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and cost assurance activities as required.
- Maintain proper reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts and integrity of Financial Statements.
- Support the intercompany accounting process, assisting with transaction recording and reconciliations.
- Assist in maintaining the Global Chart of Accounts and ensuring alignment with US, EMEA and APAC counterparts.
- Provide financial support and analysis for ad-hoc projects, as required.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (CPA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Good understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Experience or understanding of month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
- Good written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Mandarin speaker will be a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a fast paced global finance team.
