Job Title:  Controller, Conductor GmbH

Job Summary:

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) for Conductor GmbH
• Support and assist as needed with most aspects of accounting management (AR, AP, financial statement preparation, cash flow reporting, technical accounting, tax form review, and other ad-hoc reporting, etc.)
• Manage intercompany transactions
• Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local GAAP
• Maintain and monitor VAT collection and filing requirements. 
• Organize and lead preparation of monthly close journal entry process, including balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis of financials and supporting workpapers.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the local annual audit.
• Assist in providing support to external tax team for annual tax returns 
• Manage all accounting and tax compliance filings
• Assist in delivering reports for management and external stakeholders
• Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies
• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
• Other ad-hoc requests
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations
• Coordinate with external parties, such as banks and regulatory authorities, for financial matters
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance financial operations.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company’s accounting practices remain current and compliant.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's  degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Masters preferable
• 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles, experience in e-commerce is a plus
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Good knowledge of German GAAP accounting standards (HGB).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Dedication to continuous improvement and a culture of excellence
• Business fluency in both German and English
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to see the issues behind the numbers
