Accounting Associate

Exus Renewables North America  is an independent investment and asset management firm focused on the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, and battery storage). We are a growing, global partnership with offices in Europe, North America, and South America.
Exus is seeking a Accounting Associate that will assist the Project Accountants in the day-to-day accounting activities for the Exus 3rd party client basis projects. They will be support in reviewing financial transactions and responding to management and investor inquiries. This role is a blend of recurring accounting functions and variable projects.
Please note: this is an fully onsite role with reasonable flexibility in our downtown Pittsburgh office.
Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Account(s) in the management of day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audit.
• Assist the Project Accountant(s) on monthly/quarterly management financial and metric reporting and monthly variance analysis.
• Assist the Project Accountant(s) to complete the accounting month-end/year-end close process.
• Assist the Project Accountant(s) to construct month end close cycle cadence to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist the Project Accountant(s) to prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the general ledger month-end process.
• In conjunction with the project, construction, and asset management teams, assist to prepare internal budgets and forecasts for each project. 
• Input financial data into accounting systems and assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 0-1 years of public or private industry experience required.
• Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting and financial principles, regulations, and accounting software.
• Experience in managing and coordinating multiple projects and meeting deadlines preferred.
• Wind and/or solar energy project development, renewable energy industry and partnership experience preferred through not required.
