What you'll do:
You will join the small finance team of Northland Power International Holdings in Amsterdam and in your role report to the Financial Controller. You will be mainly responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of Northland entities in The Netherlands and other European countries. Your main responsibility is to maintain a proper financial administration in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP. This contains the organization of monthly closing procedures for all entities and preparing the financial reports required by the companies’ stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Check, verify and process supplier invoices
- Prepare and process payments and make reconciliation with AP ledger
- Correspond with customers and suppliers and respond to inquiries
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
- Maintain supplier- and customer master data
- Prepare and process customer invoices, including intercompany charges and billing
- Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations
- Monitor incoming payment
- Check all employee expense reports
- Record of monthly payroll journals (based on report from advisor)
- Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records
- Record & manage Fixed Assets in the accounting system
- Monthly reconciliation of sub ledgers and suspense accounts
- Assist in month end reporting procedures
- Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies
- Support in VAT, BUA and WKR administration
- Process & Analyze employee expense reports
- Process & analyses of credit card statements
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks

- Strong Communicator: Able to communicate at a high level in Dutch and English (both written and spoken)
Qualifications and experience
- +4 years experience in a financial administrative function
- Certifications in accounting
- Strong VAT knowledge
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant accounting software are essential (Northland uses Workday, experience in Workday is a pre, but not essential)
- Good social skills and the ability to interact with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
- Since there is a lot of international contacts, oral and written skills in the English language are required
- Fluent Dutch
