Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Accountant will work together with the Malaysia and Asia Shared Service Centre (SSC) to support Malaysia business by managing the day-to-day finance operations, complying to company’s policies and procedures and local statutory requirement.

  • Work closely with shared services centre to ensure financial records and transaction are recorded and reported timely and accurately, not limited to AP, AR and GL.
  • Support month-end closing and financial reporting activities such as preparation of journals
  • Support intercompany transactions such as intercompany billings, reconciliation and settlements
  • Investigate and resolve any enquiries related to accounting records and transactions
  • Review balance sheet and work with SSC to ensure balances are substantiated and preparation of cashflow.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles and best practices and maintain a strong system of internal controls.
  • Handle local statutory compliance matters such as corporate secretarial, audit, and taxation.
  • Support direct and indirect taxes submission and declaration on timely basis
  • Ad hoc queries / requests from various stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • A relevant accounting or finance degree is a prerequisite
  • Prior finance or accounting experience is preferred with at least 5 years of experience
  • Good understanding of accounting and tax
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and can work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Challenges the current way of working and seeks opportunities to improve
  • Fluent in English and conversational Mandarin capability required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good team player with strong work ethics
