Accountant

GERNERAL DESCRIPTION

This job description does not contain all of the tasks and responsibilities, but is a guide to the performance of the work. The accountant supports the accounting department and provide relevant information to the Plant Manager and other management of the company. He is responsible for achieving the objectives set out in the Operating Plan with regard to Financials and Capital Effectiveness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follows the quality procedures associated with the position of Accountant (see also quality document FB130).
• Responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings
• Preparation and support for financial audits
• Support in the preparation of budget and reforecast
• Responsible for processing incoming invoices
• Responsible for processing bank statements
• Responsible for preparation and processing of weekly payment runs
• Responsible for management of all financial data
• Close cross-functional collaboration on projects with colleagues at the plant
• Contact person for internal stake holders in all matters concerning financial management
• Reconciliation general ledger vs. sub-ledger
• Prepares and presents the monthly / annual reports, including balance sheet and income statement consisting of:
  • Balances on ledger
  • Balances in sub-administration
  • Stock
  • Payable / prepaid expenses
  • Receivable / deferred income
• Provides financial periodic reports for the internal management and mother company
• Provides external information, such as sales tax, corporate tax and CBS data.
• Carries out work which is assigned by the Controller / Financial Analyst.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOUR

• At least a HBO education (High Professional Education) in Accounting.
• Has a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to work independently and in supra-regional team context.
• Good communication and administrative skills.
• Proactive, creative, flexible and reliable.
• An excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written; knowledge of the German language is a pro.
• Good computer skills and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
