McCain Foods is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance and Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team on a 6 month contract.
In this role, you will maintain and monitor cost controls for SG&A (Selling, General & Admin), ensure accurate classification and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), and ensure that McCain SAF complies with tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Fixed Asset Management:
  
  • Oversee the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including annual verification, useful life reviews, and capitalisation of projects.
  • Manage asset scrapping, project evaluations, and documentation reviews.
  • Distribute and review reports related to the fixed asset register.
• Financial & SG&A Reporting:
  
  • Compile and maintain SG&A reports and other financial management reports.
  • Conduct cost reviews with cost centre owners, distribute cost reports, and provide analysis on cost deviations.
  • Assist with annual AOC compilation and monthly LE compilation.
  • Analyse and investigate financial deviations, offering corrective actions.
• Tax Compliance & Reporting:
  
  • Prepare and complete income tax and provisional tax returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain the tax asset register and reconcile it with the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Collaborate with the Global tax department and auditors to prepare and submit tax packs to SARS.
  • Handle quarterly tax pack submissions, resolve SARS queries, and manage the ISD14 audit.
  • Prepare and submit Transfer Pricing Masterfile and local file documentation to SARS.
  • Perform forecast tax calculations and ensure ongoing tax compliance.
• General Financial Administration:
  
  • Verify banking details for new or updated suppliers.
  • Assist with the annual audit process.
  • Analyse income statements and balance sheet reports for financial reporting.
  • Complete quarterly and annual Statistics Survey Reports.
• Ad-Hoc Reporting & Process Improvement:
  
  • Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures.

Job Holder Requirements:

• A relevant degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, and fixed asset management.
• Familiarity with SARS tax compliance, including tax pack preparation and provisional tax returns.
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of cost controls and financial reporting.
• Experience withSAP financial systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
