We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our Finance and Corporate Services team for a 12-month maternity leave cover position. This role will support ongoing accounting operations at our Head Office in Ballarat.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting & Control, the Accountant will support the finance team in delivering the accounting and administration functions for our Australian business.
Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Prepare and complete month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation of Month end financial reporting pack.
• Assist with calculation and reconciliation of inventory, fixed assets, provisions and reserves.
• Assist with implementation of relevant accounting standards and policies.
• Provide support to branch managers and administration staff at branch level.
• Assist with year-end audit process.
• Assist with annual Income Tax Return and Fringe Benefits Tax
• Assist with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting reports.
• Prepare management financial reports as required.
About you:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Experience using Excel and other accounting software.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills are essential.
