ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Sponsorship Account Supervisor with a passion for the world of partnerships, measurement, strategy, evaluation and account management to support sponsorship initiatives for our sports + entertainment focused accounts.
As an Account Supervisor, you are a senior member of the Connections and Sponsorship team at Salt. You will support our clients in negotiating, evaluating, and managing property assets, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring partnership programs to life. Reporting to the Senior Director Sponsorship, this role will contribute to client growth, day-to-day management, and analytics of sponsorship programs, driving value to meet brand/client objectives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relations & Program Management

  • Client lead in managing day-to-day relationships and sponsorship projects.
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ sponsorship goals, business strategies, and brand positioning.
  • Develop annual plan for client sponsorships that align to key business priorities.
  • Deliver client satisfaction on assigned accounts, while exhibiting end-to-end ownership for all projects being managed.
  • Build solid, trusted partnerships with clients, team members, suppliers and agency partners.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize and improve results on an ongoing basis.

Industry Knowledge

  • Maintain awareness of the sports and entertainment landscape in Canada, including knowledge of Tier-1, 2 + 3 properties and assets.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within the sponsorship industry to aid in gathering insights, market assessments, and property evaluations.

Measurement & Evaluation

  • Ability to learn, contribute to and integrate into Salt’s proprietary measurement tools for analyzing property asset value.
  • Derive insights and considerations from the data, comparing against client/brand priorities and current/future market realities.
  • Ability to understand where there may be gaps in detail and information, and building a plan to gather more informed and data-driven information to report back on value and opportunity.
  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings as a knowledgeable contributor on sponsorship measurement and evaluation.

Team

  • Liaise between internal teams and client for effective program development and management.
  • Keep your manager informed and updated on a regular basis of all pertinent program & client information.
  • Schedule, oversee and lead internal meetings and check-ins during development and execution phases.
  • Ongoing tracking of resource hours spent on a program against budgeted hours.
  • Identify people needs on a project basis and formulate a resource plan.
  • Work cohesively with cross-functional departments to ensure everyone has the tools and resources to execute with excellence.

Financial

  • Budget development, management and reconciliation.
  • Cost tracking and reporting.
  • Lead program financial reconciliations to exceed client specifications & requirements.
  • Keen ability to see and defend budgets, providing multiple budget options to clients.

Business Operations

  • Ensure timelines and program deliverables are met.
  • Ongoing tracking of program KPI’s with ongoing status updates to clients.
  • Strive for YOY organic growth with existing clients.
  • Seek to uncover new growth opportunities with existing clients.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to support development and delivery of pitches to clients and potential clients.
  • Support with the preparation of RFP’s, briefs, submissions and responses.
  • Support the business with creating and maintaining new policies, procedures and ways of working.
  • Proactively make suggestions about how work can be done more efficiently & effectively and implement new processes accordingly.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 7-8+ years’ experience in the sponsorship and partnership management industry, with 5+ years’ experience in Account Management or similar.
  • Previous experience working with Tier 1 sports and entertainment properties and athletes.
  • Previous experience developing strategic sponsorship and partnership strategies including evaluation, negotiation, contract management and activation planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
  • Experienced project manager.
  • Strong strategic thinker.
  • Natural people person with superior communication skills.
  • Strong foundational technology skills – familiarity with O365, social & digital media.
  • Better than average presentation skills – comfortable leading meetings and presentations for small and large groups.
  • Experience in managing program budgets and team P+L.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business growth opportunities.
  • Passion for, and strong foundation in sponsorship and partnerships.
