We are seeking an Account Manager to join our Retention Team in New York as part of our Sales function. This role will focus on driving growth from smaller accounts within our portfolio for Money20/20 USA. If you're passionate about sales, events, finance, and technology, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a dynamic industry.
As the Account Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage and grow relationships with existing clients, focusing on retention and scaling accounts within the financial services sector. You will work to exceed quarterly and yearly revenue targets by identifying new opportunities, upselling, and cross-selling across multiple revenue streams for Money20/20 USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Revenue Growth: Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by growing revenue from assigned retention accounts within the Money20/20 USA portfolio.
- Client Relationship Management: Manage and nurture direct relationships with customers in categories such as banking, payments, technology, and professional services. Your goal is to strengthen partnerships and ensure continued engagement with the Money20/20 USA event.
- Account Growth Plans: Develop and implement tailored strategies to expand accounts, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and opportunities to enhance their involvement in the event.
- Sales Presentations & Negotiations: Arrange and attend meetings with senior-level decision-makers, deliver compelling presentations, draft proposals, and handle objections to close deals. Secure agreements and contracts promptly, ensuring smooth execution.
- Tailored Commercial Solutions: Create customized sponsorship packages by developing new inventory and leveraging the full Money20/20 portfolio. Ensure that proposals meet the unique needs of each client, enhancing their overall event experience.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, creative, finance, operations, and customer experience teams to ensure clients' expectations are met and they receive the best possible service throughout the partnership.
- Client Guidance & Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, helping them maximize their impact at Money20/20 USA through clear communication and strategic advice.
- Networking & Industry Engagement: Build and maintain a network with clients at industry events, competitive trade shows, and customer-hosted functions. Travel may be required, primarily to Money20/20 events.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in selling trade show sponsorships and exhibit space, with experience in sales or a sales support role.
- Interest or background in the technology, finance, and events sectors (preferred experience in finance or events).
- Strong commitment to customer service, with a proactive approach to exceeding client expectations.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and present to mid- and senior-level executives.
- Proven ability to understand client needs and tailor proposals to effectively meet those objectives.
- Proficient in utilizing Salesforce for account management, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
- Well-versed in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office tools.
