Avnet Silica has an exciting opportunity to join them as an Account Manager. This is a unique nationwide role, working with customers across Scotland, The Midlands, the South East and the South West of the UK with Embedded Products.

Our ideal candidate will have solid experience dealing with and managing customer accounts face-to-face, generating profit from existing customer relationships, and being commercially savvy in creating valuable customer solutions.

You will inherit an already established customer base. You will be actively involved with meeting customers and, through your ability to understand their requirements, your knowledge of the products, strong communication, collaboration, and effective teamwork, developing the best solution for them.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, who comes from a solid commercial background, you will learn a lot just by being part of the team and being around them. They invest in people and will be there for as much or as little support as you need. Their management style is about giving you the freedom and trust to make commercial choices based on your judgment and supporting you on your journey through the business.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in selling technical products, specifically Embedded products i.e. displays, tablets, single board computers within the electronics industry.
  • Proven experience developing strategic relationships, aligning customer and business goals, and creating and managing a business and execution plan for shared success.
  • Ability to understand and identify customer needs and create the best solution based on your knowledge of Embedded products and our value proposition.
  • Proven experience driving sales growth and improved profitability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Proven experience using negotiating and influencing skills.
  • A passion for learning in an ever-changing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales, design-in and profitability goals for assigned area / customers.
  • Meet with customer to identify its products, applications, end markets and service needs and match it with our offerings.
  • Provide best individual service to customers as well as information on our products and services.
  • Identify new sales opportunities at prospective customers.
  • Work closely with technical experts to identify project opportunities and to generate into design wins in cooperation with suppliers.
  • Maximize sales opportunities and profitability for respective Speedboat for the assigned customers to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Cultivate and grow relationships at all levels of the account.
  • Negotiate new contracts with customers in cooperation with Sales Management (RSM/Country Director) and Legal department.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of sales according to Avnet policies
  • Attend Company and Supplier sponsored meetings and trainings to obtain updates on product information, customer opportunities, policy and procedure updates and technological trends.
  • Prepare customer budgets / forecasts for upcoming fiscal year in cooperation with RSM / Country Director.
  • Closely cooperate with Internal Sales and internal support functions.
