Salary Range: $240,000.00 - $300,000.00 (On Target Earning)

The Opportunity
As an Account Director, you are the primary link between Kargo and the life sciences media marketplace.  In this senior sales role, you’ll leverage your relationships and experience to drive significant growth from agencies and manufacturers across the spectrum of therapeutic categories.  You’ll provide valuable input in revenue forecasts and regularly provide market insight back to the company to inform new advertising solutions that satisfy complex regulatory requirements.  The Account Director is responsible for achieving an individual quarterly and annual quota based on opportunities sourced in an assigned book of business.  

The Daily To-Do:

  • Evangelizes Kargo as a consultative partner providing world-class customer service and developing strategic partnerships with agencies like IPG Health, PHM, Klick, CMI, and SSCG
  • Creates and grows partnerships with key investment leads through joint business plans and strategic commitments across major healthcare agency-holding companies
  • Develops corporate contacts and cultivates relationships at all levels within the pharmaceutical ecosystem, from brand managers to C-suite executives, across client-direct stakeholders
  • Possesses a baseline understanding of the digital media ecosystem, including FDA guidelines, MLR processes, and pharma marketing compliance, with a curiosity to always learn more
  • Exhibits a HUNTER mentality with a track record of exceeding $10m+ annual revenue targets
  • Works to deeply understand the customer's business, challenges, and goals across therapeutic categories from rare disease and oncology to lifestyle and chronic conditions
  • Increases revenue by positioning and presenting new or existing products, including solutions like triggered DTC messaging, NPI targeting, and custom/compliant creative, then closing the sale
  • Drives growth through increasing current business and new business by leveraging data partnerships with PurpleLab, Crossix, IQVIA, Swoop ,and more
  • Serves as a pharmaceutical industry thought leader, with a knack for pushing forward new innovation and research that earns attention at industry events like HLTH, DPE and MM+M
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation in Salesforce including weekly forecasts, pipeline updates, and detailed account planning
  • Maintains broad knowledge of Kargo ad products and pharmaceutical measurement solutions as well as the strengths/weaknesses of competitive products in the healthcare advertising space
  • Enhances pharma vertical strategy by cycling market responses back to the company, primarily the product organization, to help inform our roadmap and positioning for FDA-compliant solutions
  • Interface with Kargo's creative, design, research, and yield teams to develop MLR-approved, sound, compelling proactive ideas and proposals for both DTC and HCP campaigns
  • Works closely with account management to service, maintain, renew, and up-sell current clients 
  • Possesses leadership qualities to help mentor junior members of the team on pharmaceutical media best practices

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of digital media sales experience with at least 3 years focused on pharmaceutical advertising; Experience selling video/CTV and programmatic preferred
  • Experience managing pharmaceutical enterprise accounts ($3M+) and direct relationships with major healthcare brands; Must have established relationships within associated Rx agencies
  • Ability to engage and partner with executives across pharmaceutical agencies and brands, with proven track record of securing strategic partnerships and JBPs
  • Ability to win the support of key stakeholders through deep understanding of pharmaceutical brand planning cycles and budget processes
  • Extensive knowledge of digital and mobile marketing including programmatic, with specific expertise in DTC/HCP targeting, data partners measurement solutions
  • Must possess superb written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate regulatory review
  • Must be a highly motivated team player who can collaborate cross-functionally with Client Partners, Client Services, Campaign Management, Research, and Design
  • PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills are a must
  • Passion for pharmaceutical advertising and the ability to adjust quickly to changing regulatory requirements, brand needs, and market dynamics
  • Must be willing and able to travel to major pharmaceutical hubs and industry events
  • Experience with custom creative development and MLR submission processes preferred
