We're seeking an Account Director to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!
As a member of our APAC sales team, managing business in China, you will identify opportunities to grow our software and services business with both new and existing accounts in the life science and materials science industries. Your customer base will include scientists, departmental management, and senior pharma/biotech executives. You'll work closely with Schrödinger's applications scientists, product managers, senior company leadership, and other account managers in a collaborative team environment. This position provides a unique and exciting opportunity to interact with prominent scientists and executives in our industry.
Please note that, generally, we expect this hire to work hours that are amenable to our customers in China. "Core working hours" for this position will be roughly 1pm to 9pm Pacific Time - US (4am to 12pm China Standard Time).

What you'll do:

  • Manage software business and accounts in China
  • Create and implement strategic sales plans for the Chinese market
  • Refine the channel sales strategy for the China sales territory
  • Accurately forecast all new and renewal business opportunities in Salesforce
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contacts at various levels in your accounts through effective communication, education, reporting and problem-solving
  • Communicate client feedback to Schrödinger Product Managers and Support teams
  • Collect and communicate industry trends in the Chinese market to Schrödinger management


What you should have:

  • Minimum of five years of successful software sales experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of solution selling and strategic sales approaches
  • Verifiable history of positive customer relationships
  • A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related science
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
  • Flexible work schedule to overlap business hours in US Pacific and China (e.g. 1pm - 9pm US Pacific Time / 4am - 12pm China Standard Time)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to China on a quarterly basis and as needed for business opportunities

Estimated base salary range: $120,000 - $190,000 with a 25% bonus. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
