Position Overview
We are currently looking for candidates to fulfill a Contract 3D Designer role. Our expectation is for this Contractor to start in or around mid-February or early-March.
As a 3D Designer, your primary focus is to create 3D models for a number of our clients in a highly collaborative environment and develop thoughtful, original ideas that are on strategy.
You will efficiently and effectively model products and scenes within 3D for a variety of brands. In this role you will prioritize artistic vision, technical proficiency, optimization, organization, and problem solving skills. From brand worlds to websites, you will work closely with the 3D team to create work that speaks to the brand’s language while ensuring cohesive visuals. You have the skills and understanding to properly execute on modeling, texturing, lighting, animating, and rendering highly editorial and stylized scenes for a variety of brands. You know how to manage your time efficiently and optimize your models/files in order to iterate and problem solve quickly.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Render product and branding mockups for presentations
- Create highly editorial and stylized product and scene renders for CPG clients
- Responsible for modeling and optimizing product assets and scenes
- Demonstrate broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks
- Quickly solve issues, collaborate, and iterate on products and scenes
- Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills
- Has strong organizational skills in both file management and working files in order to preserve ease of collaboration within the 3D team
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with the design and creative technology teams to create sophisticated interactive 3D experiences for the web and optimize 3D assets for performance on various platforms.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Blender and the Cycles render engine
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, photoshop, and After Effects
- General knowledge of 3D skills such as modeling, UV mapping, texturing, lighting, and animation.
- Proficient in optimizing renders and image sequences for web and mobile applications
- Experience creating texture maps for 3D using flat artwork, labels, and product dielines.
- Experience with creating, lighting, rendering, and animating realistic product renders
- Demonstrate strong time management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrates strong organization skills within 3D files and file management
- Ability to take constructive criticism and iterate on designs
- Experience working in a variety of visual styles
- Experience with creating editorial and stylized 3D product models and scenes for CPG clients
- Knowledge of C4D is a plus (redshift and octane render engines)
- Passion for 3D art and animation
- Willingness to learn and grow in the field as well as learn new technical skills
- A design eye - understanding of typography, color theory, layout and art direction

- 3-4 Years of Experience Working in 3D Design
Expectations of Role
- Aiming for February or March Start Date
- Potentially 20-35 hours of availability per week
