About This Role
Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an intern to support the Psychiatry Marketing team. This individual will be responsible for the completion of a project that will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and business needs. These could include Long Term Care strategy, measuring marketing campaign impact, or exploring innovative non-personal promotion tactics, etc.
The Marketing Intern will report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and will work cross-functionally.
This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead a project aligned with the launch of AXS-05 with a focus on strategic planning and execution
- Examples of the potential projects and responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute a tactical plan for the Long-Term Care setting at launch by:
- Interviewing Sales, Corporate, and Commercial team members with long term care experience
- Engaging with long term care stakeholders and synthesizing finding
- Research and recommend an adherence program for launch by:
- Analyzing adherence programs for similar products in the market
- Collaborating with patience services to explore potential offerings
- Interviewing external stakeholders, such as HCPs and caregivers, to assess adherence needs
- Working with analytics team to evaluate adherence data
- Explore innovative digital or other tactics to engage primary care physicians by:
- Conducting vendor research to create a landscape of potential offerings
- Collaborating with the DCC team to develop strategies for engaging PCPs
- Recommending impactful tactics and ways to track their effectiveness
- Develop and execute a tactical plan for the Long-Term Care setting at launch by:
- Complete a combination of internal and external research for the assigned project
- Analyze key market, consumer, and competitor trends to identify launch strategy for the brand
- Establish strong relationships with key internal functions including Sales, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Regulatory
- Present a final set of recommendations to the brand team
- Ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements / Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an MBA program
- Previous pharma / biotech experience either in consulting, banking, or pharmaceutical industry
- A proactive, creative and entrepreneurial approach to work
- Interest in Marketing
- Interest and/or experience in CNS diseases
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles
Experience and Knowledge
- Interest in Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences industry a plus
- Accomplished background demonstrating teamwork, creativity, leadership, good judgement, and delivering results
Additional Details
The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $20-$30 hour. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
This is a full time and temporary role beginning in June and concluding In August. Final dates will be confirmed this spring. Successful candidates will be compensated at an hourly rate for the duration of the internship. Interns will work a maximum of 40 hours a week and overtime will not be provided.
