As a GIS Engineer at Juvare, you will be responsible for processing and loading GIS data used in disaster response and recovery. Success in this position is measured by accurate and timely customer data management. Along the way, our experienced team will mentor you on the nuances of emergency management.
Reports to: Senior GIS Analyst
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Responsibilities:
- Work with Senior GIS Analyst to process GIS and related data in a timely, efficient manner. Complete Data Processing Reports for the customers you process.
- There may be times when we need you to review the work of other data processors. The ability to learn and adhere to our data standards is required.
- Work with stakeholders and clients to resolve data issues.
- Create/enhance software that automates repetitive tasks.
Requirements:
- Working towards a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a GIS-related field.
- Junior or Senior in an accredited university with at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Expected to graduate in 2025 or 2026.
- Eligible for work authorization in the United States upon completing education.
- Comfort with working in a hybrid (virtual and face-to-face) environment.
- Familiarity and experience with GIS data/joins/queries/editing in ArcGIS Pro/QGIS.
- Familiarity with Python and/or PyCharm is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Hard-working, inquisitive, and solution oriented.
- Effective communication skills are a must. You can’t be afraid to ask questions!
