The PROS Summer Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship designed to provide challenging, hands-on work experience. You will be assigned both individual and team projects that will make a direct impact on the company. This will further develop your ability to problem solve and communicate. In addition, interns will be provided ample learning opportunities, interaction with business leaders and engaging intern events. You will receive a mentor that provides frequent feedback on projects while helping you to build technical, analytical and leadership skills.

A Day in the Life of a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Intern – About the role:

  • Deploy, configure and maintain applications in a cloud environment
  • Participation in the development of automation and self-service tools
  • Troubleshooting issues in a production environment
  • Collaborating with senior team members
  • Proactively learning about new technologies
  • Writing documentation
  • Write and deliver presentations on your hard work to management and other teams 
  • Identify and improve pain points in your team’s daily workflow 

Required Qualifications - About you:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language, e.g. Python, Go or Bash scripting
  • Fundamental knowledge in operating systems, networking or database technologies
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Desire to learn and improve
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to switch between being autonomous and self-driven or team oriented as the needs arise
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving, verbal & written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new technology in-depth
  • Experience in a team-based environment

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux
  • Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud)
  • Experience with Configuration Management Tools (Ansible, Puppet, Foreman, Rundeck)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies (Integration, Testing, Deployment, and Delivery)
  • Experience using REST API design and development
  • Experience in web development
  • Interest in Infrastructure as Code

Work Environment:

The 2025 Summer Internship program follows a hybrid schedule, Interns will be required to commute to our headquarters in Houston, Texas for a minimum of three days per week.  Interns will split their work between in-office and remote settings, with tasks requiring little to moderate physical exertion. The role may involve extended hours, tight deadlines, and high-pressure situations. To excel in this position, candidates must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, understand business terminology, and interpret numerical data accurately.
