Named after the inventor of RFID technology, Charles Walton, Waltonchain is a blockchain development project that combines this technology with the Internet of Things (IoT).

Waltonchain’s blockchain network is a cross-blockchain-based ecosystem for supply chains, ensuring the consensus, provenance, compliance, immutability and finality of items tracked by the IoT devices integrating the self-developed and patented Blockchain-on-Chip RFID technology. Waltonchain’s primary focus is improvement of supply chains for life-essential products, specifically food, clothes and drugs, although the protocol can be applied to almost any complex supply chain (subchain).

The team aims to provide supply chains with an efficient management system. Using RFID, Waltonchain can track any product during each phase of production and distribution. This data is then stored in the blockchain, thereby, ensuring precision through each and every stage, realizing the function of automatic uploading of all the physical goods circulation data to the chain so as to establish a uniquely authentic and reliable business ecosystem.
