There’s always room to grow at Closinglock. “We encourage employees to try different roles or meet cross-departmentally to find the perfect fit for their skills and passions,” Lampl said. To excel, employees need the right tools. Luckily, they are provided with the top software for each department’s needs, books and online courses. Coaching that encompasses one-on-ones with peers, mentors and executives is readily available, too. “Leadership makes themselves accessible to all employees and makes an effort to lean in and remove obstacles where needed.”

Gacke is always learning from her teammates, who she describes as fun, diligent, collaborative and hard-working. There’s already a foundation of trust among colleagues, which bolsters flexibility and work-life balance. They’re building on that foundation, too. “We’re young and constantly growing; anyone who has an idea can raise their hand and execute it themselves or with a team,” Gacke said. Those ideas run the gamut from organizing events or adding a new snack to the kitchen to making the office space more inviting.

Engineers shape the mission to achieve it

Richard’s team works toward eliminating real estate wire fraud. To accomplish that lofty goal, they might develop a new feature to simplify the user experience or delve into technical aspects of network security to maintain company security standards. “There’s an energy and exchange of ideas that I haven’t felt anywhere else,” Richard said. “Engineers connect with all areas of the business. They develop an understanding of how a business grows and the best ways to contribute to that growth as an engineer, besides lines of code written.”
