We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workday Product Owner to lead the strategic direction, development, and optimization of our Workday Human Resources (HR) system. This role serves as a key liaison between HR, IT, and other business stakeholders to ensure Workday meets the evolving needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workday’s core HR modules, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive system enhancements that improve HR operations and employee experience.
Responsibilities:
Workday System Ownership & Strategy:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Workday HR-related system enhancements, configuration, and integrations.
- Manage the product backlog for HR and payroll related work, aligning system capabilities with business needs.
- Partner with HR leadership, IT, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation, efficiency improvements, and best practices.
- Stay updated on Workday releases and industry trends to optimize system functionality and performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with HR, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, and IT teams to understand system requirements and pain points.
- Translate business needs into Workday functional configurations, ensuring alignment with company policies and compliance standards.
- Lead discovery sessions and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Workday enhancements.
System Implementation & Enhancement:
- Manage the full Workday enhancement lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and deployment.
- Support Workday modules, such as Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, and Recruiting.
User Support, Training, & Change Management:
- Develop and deliver Workday training materials, knowledge articles, and user guides.
- Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for HR system issues and user inquiries.
- Partner with HR and IT teams to drive system adoption and change management initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience working with Workday HR modules, preferably in a product owner or HRIS analyst role.
- Strong understanding of HR business processes and system configurations, including security, workflows, and reporting.
- Experience with Workday system administration, including business process configuration, integrations, and release management.
- Ability to translate business needs into system solutions while managing competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a product ownership framework.
- Familiarity with Workday Extend, Prism Analytics, and Adaptive Planning is a plus.
- Knowledge of data privacy and compliance requirements related to HR systems.
