As our Cast Members and Guests increasingly expect seamless mobile connectivity, the services provided by the Wireless Network Services team within Disney Enterprise Technology become ever more crucial for supporting major Disney brands such as ESPN, ABC, Marvel, and Disney theme parks, by delivering essential mobility services.
We are hiring a Wireless Engineer - Cellular to support the development of architectures and guidelines for planning, designing, and configuring wireless cellular networks. In this role, you will design and implement cutting-edge cellular systems, including private 5G, neutral host CBRS, and neutral host DAS. Your expertise will enhance Disney's wireless network infrastructure, ensuring excellent mobile connectivity for our Guests and Cast Members.
What You Will Do
This Wireless Engineer - Cellular position involves designing wireless cellular networks based on business requirements, preparing vendor bid proposals, and producing detailed documentation and configurations. You will collaborate with various network engineering teams and service suppliers to ensure project alignment and deliverables, as well as providing tier-4 incident support and conducting wireless RF surveys.
- Design and implement advanced cellular systems, including private 5G, neutral host CBRS, and neutral host DAS
- Support the development of architecture and standards for wireless cellular nodes, antennas, radios, cabling, and controllers
- Determine business requirements and develop estimates and proposals for solutions
- Prepare and review vendor bid proposals for solution delivery
- Produce documentation and configurations for the planning, design, staging, and configuration of wireless cellular nodes, radios, and equipment
- Collaborate with other network engineering teams, business unit engineering teams, and service suppliers to ensure proper alignment on projects and network deliverables
- Develop solution designs, conduct peer design reviews, and issue change requests to service suppliers while adhering to service lifecycle and technology roadmaps
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide tier-4 incident support and troubleshooting
- Conduct, review, and approve wireless RF surveys and interpret results
Must Have
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with cellular networks, including Nokia and Ericsson
- Expert understanding of cellular RF characteristics and signal propagation, including experience working with predictive and active surveys using tools comparable to PCTel and iBwave.
- Expert understanding of cellular wireless authentication methods including AAA and SIM/eSIM.
- Extensive experience with cellular wireless design and architecture.
- Strong understanding of switch and VLAN configurations
- IP networking fundamentals and ability to work with LAN network engineers
- Wireless network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, tools like Word, Visio, and PowerPoint to create and maintain SOPs, maintenance plans, network diagrams, etc.
- Ability to develop accurate Bills of Material and technical statements of work
- LTE, 5G, Private 5G, CBRS

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $104,600.00-$140,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
