JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for a tenacious White House Producer to join our Washington, D.C. team. As a White House Producer, you have strong sources and exceptional editorial skills. You possess the ability to generate provocative and compelling story ideas. You are proactive, passionate, and self-motivated, as well as collaborative. As part of our White House team, you will work with other producers, as well as correspondents, to break news and advance the network’s coverage.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strengthen contacts at the White House and Capitol Hill to develop new and unique sources to break news

• Provide the network with editorial and logistical guidance that drives our White House coverage and keeps us a step ahead of our competitors

• Assist reporters in gathering video and selecting sound bites for use in live shots and packages

• Field production; including coordinating Presidential event coverage, live shots, working with network transmission pools, and providing editorial direction to the network, including interpretation of TV pool and White House guidance.

• Pitch stories and develop original content for television and digital that approaches news from unique angles

• Field producing on Capitol Hill involving attending press conference and monitoring hearings as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience 

• 5 years of national broadcast experience in political news

• Exceptional editorial judgment and intimate knowledge of national and international politics

• Effective, thoughtful communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by multitasking and prioritizing, especially in breaking news situations

• Strong government-based contacts at the White House, on Capitol Hill, or in various federal agencies are a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $75,000.00-110,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
