Job Summary

Misselwood is an oceanfront estate that boasts panoramic views of the ocean in a historic setting in Beverly, serving as a memorable space for world-class events. The team is looking for our next Wedding & Social Sales Manager to continue to serve our clients and community with superior hospitality and customer service in a stunning location.

The Wedding & Social Sales Manager at Misselwood Events is a dynamic and results-driven role focused on driving revenue through the cultivation and growth of the wedding and social event markets. This position will oversee the entire sales process for weddings & socials, ensuring successful execution from the initial inquiry to event implementation. In addition to weddings and social events, this role will actively assist with the corporate and overnight sales initiatives, taking a collaborative approach to meet the needs of various efforts.

By developing targeted sales strategies, building strong relationships with clients and vendors, and continuously identifying new revenue opportunities, the Wedding & Social Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding Misselwood’s presence in the competitive event market. With a blend of sales, coordination, and marketing expertise, this position  will be responsible for generating leads, nurturing client relationships, and delivering exceptional event experiences.

Primary Outcomes & % Time

Increase Revenues (45%)

  • Responsible for generating revenue from the wedding and social events market.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new clients.

  • Identify new revenue opportunities to ensure offerings align with market trends.

  • Serve the need for corporate & overnight clients.

  • Identify and pursue marketing efforts,  including networking.

  • Responsible for site tours, proposals, and contracts.

Coordination and Implementation of Events (30%)

  • Initial coordination of weddings & social events.

    • Assist in the coordination and implementation of multi-day meetings, and overnight programs.

  • Communicate client expectations, including work orders, event summaries, and floor plans.

  • Clearly communicate event logistics to  resource departments and vendors.

  • Prepare and send billings to ensure timely processing

  • Manage the Misselwood Annual Summer Wedding Show.

Manage marketing efforts at it pertains to weddings and social events (15%)

  • Identify valuable marketing options across multiple platforms, including in-person events, vendor shows, and paid advertising.

  • Manage  the Misselwood Preferred Vendor List and annual wedding brochure

  • Develop pricing structures, policies, and contracts for events based on the industry trends.

Training, Development, and Support (10%)

  • Collaborate  with the Director of Operations to ensure the Operations Team is trained and well-versed in event execution expectations.

  • Assist in training of Event Hosts and sales team members.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, event management, or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in sales and coordination of weddings, social events, and meetings in a professional manner that results in customer satisfaction and adherence to rules and policies.

  • Exemplary written and oral communications, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills.

  • Successful In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry, with outstanding  customer service skills and a true commitment to providing timely solutions.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to thrive  in a fast-paced environment.. Ability to prioritize work based on urgency and demand.

  • Flexibility to adjust work hours, including  evenings and weekends, to support business operations on-site, as needed

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities without sacrificing quality.

  • Knowledge of beverage service policies and procedures, with the ability to respond appropriately to client  needs. 

  • Ability and eagerness to learn and implement new software systems for the position.  

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to become proficient with Event Management System (EMS).
