What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
Woodard & Curran is seeking an experienced manager to join our dedicated and talented team at our Public Water Supply District #2 / East Central Missouri Project. This position is for a manager of water and wastewater systems for the Wright City service area.
This manager will be responsible for the full-time operation and general maintenance of facility’s equipment and process controls at wastewater facilities, including managing the scope, schedule, and budget of the facility in accordance with contract requirements. Additional responsibilities include environmental compliance, employee safety, client relations and financial management. Successful candidates will have experience supervising the staff of operators, mechanics, lab technicians, and field service personnel.
Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Responsibilities include:
- Managing an annual operating budget in excess of $1,000,000.
- Leading and managing 6 water and wastewater employees
- Operation and maintenance of two wastewater treatment plants (sequencing batch reactor and membrane bioreactor)
- Operation and maintenance of a water distribution system that includes 400,000 linear feet of pipe, six water storage tanks, six wells, a booster station, and 570 fire hydrants.
- Operation and maintenance of a wastewater collection system that includes approximately 105,000 linear foot of gravity main, 67,000 linear foot of force main, 16 lift stations, and 1023 manholes.
- Customer service for 3600+ customers; this includes meter reading and disconnecting services for non-payment.
- Completion of Utility Locate Request for a 40-square mile area.
What will you need to succeed?
- Three or more years of experience of managing water distribution systems and/or wastewater treatment and/or collection systems.
- MO Drinking Water Distribution Operator Certification Level DS-III or the ability to obtain it within the first year of employment.
- MO Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification Level D or the ability to obtain it within the first year of employment.
- Experience overseeing personnel
- Experience overseeing an annual budget of $500k or more.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record with regulators.
- High School graduate or equivalent, with technical/vocational school background.
- Applicant must possess a valid Drivers License and a good driving record and must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
