The VP, US Vaccines Accounts Management Lead is responsible for leading a team of approximately 100 colleagues including Vaccines Account Directors (VADs), Vaccines Account Managers (VAMs), Senior Director, National & Specialty Accounts, National Account Directors (NADs), and an Account Enablement Director. The team is focused on achieving U.S. Vaccine business goals with organized customers/stakeholders in the US including, but not limited to, administrative and decision-making roles of all levels at integrated healthcare networks, large medical groups, managed care organizations, accountable care organizations, VA, Department of Defense, purchasing groups, state government immunization departments, and other large regional and national public and private vaccine customers. This lead is responsible for routinely collaborating with Vaccine Brand Marketing and Market Access, Legal, Sales, Pharmacy, Compliance, Pfizer Public Policy, Payer and Channel Access, Field Medical teams, et al.
The lead reports into the US Customer Engagement Platform (CEP) Lead and sits on the US Vaccines Sales and Accounts Leadership Team. A key partner to our brand (Prevnar, Comirnaty, Abrysvo, Trumenba, Penbraya) teams and our strategic contracting team.
Remote location available with significant travel, estimated 30%-40% both internal meetings and for top external engagements).
Team Leadership and Maximize Performance:
- Leads a national team to deliver targeted business outcomes that provides access and creates pull through opportunities for Pfizer vaccine products with integrated delivery networks, large medical groups, managed care organizations, state government immunization departments, VA, Department of Defense, purchasing groups, and various large regional and national public and private vaccine customers.
- Ensures the development of robust business plans to maximize the performance of organized customers and provides business reviews and updates to leadership as appropriate.
- Ensures organization has the capabilities to engage with key decision makers and influencers, including health system management, members of coalitions, advisory groups, and professional associations; becoming involved as needed to optimize results.
- Leads the execution of contracting strategy by with targeted customers; becoming involved in the negotiations as needed to optimize results.
- Effectively manages the performance and development of the Vaccines Account Management organization by providing clear direction, prioritization, coaching, and development feedback.
- Conducts account plan review, customer visits, business reviews and sets challenging performance objective to objectively evaluate direct reports' performance using the applicable Pfizer HR processes
- Leads and manages projects across functional teams to include, but are not limited to, marketing, sales leadership, pharmacy, access, commercial effectiveness, and medical as needed to support the U.S. Vaccines BU.
- Effectively manages all employee relations' issues (with support from Human Resources), as needed.
Strategic Account Management
- Engage, understand, and partner with selected/prioritized senior-level customers/stakeholders to better meet/protect/influence customer needs and to create net revenue for Pfizer, over a 1-3 year time horizon.
- Build relationships with key customers, thought leaders and decision makers.
- Assess and understand the medium/long-term healthcare issues, local customer drivers shaping account activity
- Understand policy implications (Healthcare reforms), guide strategies and provide advocacy to protect and enhance Pfizer's brand interests
- Identify and share lessons learned from successes and challenges within U.S. Sales and Account Management Leadership Team, and cross-functional partners
- Leadership and Collaboration with Customer Facing Teams:
- Upskills capabilities of our vaccines account team in this fast evolve in space and models and drives productive collaboration across regions and across customer facing teams (sales/ retail). Collaborating for the creation of clear objectives for the team to deliver portfolio objectives.
- Work and align across customer facing leadership and HQ Marketing and/or commercial effectiveness teams to help prioritize opportunities for deployment of vaccine customer facing teams
- Collaborates with Sales and Pharmacy as needed to ensure aligned communication and direction across teams
- Align and collaborate as appropriate with Account Management Leadership from other Pfizer BUs (IM, PCA, Oncology, I&I, etc.), ensure direct reports do the same to maximize results for Pfizer.
Integration and Collaboration with Key Internal Stakeholders
- Actively participates as a key member of the Sales and Account Management Leadership team to drive the achievement of U.S. Vaccine and Account Management goals.
- Models and drives productive collaboration with all functional partners to deliver targeted business outcomes to include, butis not limited, to Vaccine Market Access, Payer and Channel Access, Government Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Field Medical, Commercial Effectiveness, and Marketing.
Market Knowledge
- Analyzes organizational metrics, data, and market dynamics to develop and prioritize opportunities, formulate business plans, and gain insight into national performance. Uses this knowledge to keep the account management team focused on appropriate activities and on the accounts needed to best ensure goal attainment.
- Maintains strong knowledge of the evolving healthcare industry landscape to include, but not limited, to quality measures, health information technology, healthcare funding, and the interactions and interdependencies between healthcare stakeholders.
- Drives innovation and new approaches that help exceed BU business objectives
- Resources Utilization
- Manages the optimal deployment and execution of resources of direct reports (e.g. travel & entertainment budgets, RC approved materials, medical education programs, etc.).
- Ensures account managers are leveraging planning resources (iPlan) to optimize business planning.
- Executes and reinforces programs to continually develop VAM capabilities (VAM Developmental Pathways, Evolving Healthcare Landscape trainings, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15+ years of pharmaceutical experience inclusive of supervising leaders-of-leaders and managing customer-facing functions.
- Buy& Bill, Vaccines, and/or Acct Management experience strongly preferred. Strategy/marketing experience highly desired as is product launch experience.
- Demonstrated ability to influence thought leaders and high-level decision makers in large group practices, integrated delivery networks, contracting entities, or managed care organizations and the ability to teach and hold others accountable to same
- Demonstrated ability to engage with Pfizer senior leaders to provide marketing and performance updates/answer questions and be decisive.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate others and lead through change while delivering on Pfizer business imperatives
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high-performance culture within a team
- Deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, quality measures, health information technology, healthcare funding, and the interactions and interdependencies between healthcare stakeholders and the ability to teach and hold others accountable to same
- Demonstrated prioritization, problem-solving, facilitation, and project management skills and the ability to teach and hold others accountable to same
- Demonstrated negotiating and contracting experience and the ability to teach and hold others accountable to same
- Strong ability to leverage data and insights to optimize decision making
- Demonstrated One Pfizer approach by operating above-brand or cross-function/BU on policy and strategic issues
- Experience with selling to state and/or federal government preferred
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA (or advanced degree) preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $256,100.00 to $426,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
