Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, IFC, Sundance TV and WE tv; and film distribution labels IFC Films and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.

We are currently seeking a VP, Streaming Business Planning and Analytics to join our Partner Management team based in our New York, New York headquarters.

JOB SUMMARY  

This position will play a critical senior role within AMC’s Partner Management and Strategy team, responsible for growing our streaming subscription services through distribution partnerships. The VP, Streaming Business Planning and Analytics will focus on providing essential analysis and modeling to drive data-backed decisions that support the growth of our streaming subscription base and extend and maintain our streaming subscriber lifecycle  

The ideal candidate is a data-driven streaming growth leader eager to help architect and execute on programs and initiative that support streaming subscriber growth and profitability. Operating in a cross-functional organization, this will be a new discipline and new role for AMC. This role sits within the commercial revenue organization. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Contribute to the development of subscription, retention and engagement strategies across our 7 streaming services that support the growth and performance of distribution partnerships 
  • At the direction of the EVP of Partner Management and Strategy, author strategic plans and provide necessary modeling for long-term scenario planning 
  • Partner with Finance, Content Strategy and Marketing to communicate subscriber, retention, and revenue goals across the organization 
  • Collaboratively align with Partner Management, Deal and larger commercial revenue teams to integrate goals and deliver on partner-specific subscriber and revenue opportunities 
  • Support analytical efforts for modeling the business including but not limited to: Tier analysis (introduction of Ad Tiers, Limited Tiers, Premium Tiers, etc.), Bundle analysis, Pricing elasticity, promotional strategy, demand testing and analysis to inform retention 
  • Support retention, churn, engagement, and growth analysis, partnering closely with Subscriber Analytics, Partner Management, Content Strategy and Marketing teams  
  • Partner with Business Intelligence teams and research teams to inform and improve templates and data tools where possible 
  • Key stakeholder in managing current relationships with strategic partnerships while exploring new partnership opportunities. Provide partnership deal analysis and modeling including potential size of the opportunity, outlining important potential deal points and competitive benchmarks 
  • Work with EVP of Partner Management and Strategy to set KPIs; performance and workflow tracking to ensure success in hitting targets and benchmarks 
  • Own and drive the internal QBR process, comprehensively and accurately reporting on the challenges and opportunities for achieving our goals 
  • Help to inform and plan operations for emerging strategies and adopted tactical plans with a holistic view of future-facing growth and audience goals 
  • Provide financial modeling when necessary to evaluate streaming strategy 

  

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 12+ years of relevant financial and business planning experience; Prior experience in a strategy role within a content company and/or a DTC environment a plus 
  • Demonstrated experience with financial analysis and scenario modeling 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of subscription services 
  • Fluent in data and analytics and adept in impacting efforts by making data-led decisions 
  • Working knowledge and understanding of linear ad supported business model and complexity 
  • Prior experience in analyzing and structuring third-party deals strongly preferred (e.g. partnerships, licensing) 
  • Prior experience working in a cross functional environment and managing multiple stakeholders including senior management  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence, including the ability to collaborate between diverse teams and individuals 
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, and a persuasive, proactive and passionate communication style, with the ability to build relationships with multiple constituencies, including within AMC, and with senior management  
  • Enthusiastic self-starter who is passionate about media, audience, and strategic business planning 
  • Comfortable working across all levels of an organization in a collaborative, supportive, and transparent manner 
  • Ability to translate complicated abstract problems or questions into data-driven business analysis that informs operational plans and helps move the business forward

The base compensation range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000 commensurate with experience. AMC Networks additionally offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Services, among other benefit plan options, subject to eligibility requirements.
