CHAMPRO is a leading team sports brand that operates exclusively through business-to-business channels. To meet growing demand, the company plans, procures, transports, and manages an extensive inventory of over 20,000 SKUs from a network of 50 owned and contracted manufacturing sites across fifteen countries. Products are distributed directly from CHAMPRO-owned factories and three distribution centers, primarily using small parcel carriers.

Position:

Reporting to the President, you will strategically manage and be responsible for all movement, placement, integrity of inventory; logistic costs & routes; decisions regarding warehousing and distribution methods; improvement of processes and developing strong business relationships for our mid-sized organization. This includes the maintenance and administration of our company operated distribution facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Supply & Demand Planning:
    • Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies to optimize inventory levels and meet customer demand
    • Analyze historical data and current market trends to forecast demand and make informed purchasing decisions
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory levels with production and sales goals
  • Distribution Management:
    • Oversee the distribution strategy to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers
    • Manage relationships with logistics service providers and negotiate contracts to achieve cost-effective solutions
    • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate distribution efficiency and effectiveness
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement automated receiving, order picking and shipping solutions
  • Inventory Management:
    • Establish policies and procedures for inventory management to ensure accuracy and minimize waste
    • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity and optimize stock levels
    • Utilize inventory management software and tools to streamline processes and improve reporting capabilities
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead and mentor a diverse team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge in supply chain practices
    • Promote open communication and innovative thinking within the team to drive operational excellence
    • Provide leadership in the implementation of new ERP software
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with other departments, including sales, marketing, and finance, to align operational strategies with business objectives
    • Facilitate regular meetings to share updates, discuss challenges, and identify opportunities for process improvements
    • Serve as a key member of the executive team to contribute to overall company strategy and decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in supply chain, operations management, or related fields, with a proven track record of leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex supply chain challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Strong proficiency in supply chain software and tools, with a willingness to adapt to new technologies
