Forming part of the Biotechnology segment at Danaher, we bring together dedicated technical expertise and talent to develop the next generation of life-changing therapeutics. This role sits in the Bioprocess Operating Company within Cytiva. 

The Opportunity: 

The Global Vice President of Operations Resins and Technologies is responsible for oversight of all global manufacturing facilities within the Bioprocessing Business Unit.  

 

The R&T operations comprise both process and assembly based operationsThe product are used in research and manufacturing of bio-derived therapeutics and the customer base spans from academia to large, global biopharma manufacturers. Our operations include raw material handling, quality control, solvent management, waste water treatment, process and facilities maintenance, people and process safety, large scale chemical manufacturing of so called chromatography resins and assembly manufacturing of lab and industrial scale consumable devices for the life science industryThe main operations are located in Uppsala, Sweden but the role is also responsible for sites in Denmark and the United States. The role is accountable for meeting all operational defined targets such as quality, product output, capital investments, inventory and safety.  

 

We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented executive with a proven track record of success in leading operations to peak performance. Adept at developing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive efficiency, improve processes, and enhance overall business performance. Known for a collaborative leadership style that fosters cross-functional teamwork and achieves organizational goals. This Leader will drive the Danaher culture and promote excellence and engagement through the application of Danaher Business System (DBS) principles including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability. 

 

The role will play a vital part in leading a dynamic, motivated, high-performing global team at an exciting stage in the evolution of Cytiva. This individual will report directly to the VP and GM of the Resins and Technologies business unit within Cytiva and serve as part of the Global leadership team, partnering with the other leaders across Cytiva.  

 

The successful candidate will lead a talented and diverse global team focused on providing manufacturing excellence, supporting new product introduction, managing technology transfer projects, sustainably driving performance to customer in both supply and quality, driving down cost, driving down working capital and all done in a physically and mentally safe environment.  

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

 

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation, and leadership to carry out the following: 

  • Lead and coordinate all manufacturing activities on a global basis, and ensuring the establishment of manufacturing strategies and programs in each site that will achieve the key operating imperatives. 

  • Lead Policy Deployment activities to ensure the sites are aligned with appropriate priorities. 

  • Develop and design best-in-class Operations organization, processes and procedures based on expert understanding, industry experience and insights into future direction. Create site strategies that ensure our global footprint is designed to support the current business and future acquisitions. 

  • Analyze critical financial and operational information from each site to ensure compliance with established targets. 

  • Promote and deploy Danaher Business Systems (DBS) to achieve break-through performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and drive goal in support of the overall business strategic, financial and operating plan.  

  • Develop and manage continuous improvement projects (CIPs) focused on significant cost reductions while improving product and process quality. 

  • Support and lead international expansion and improved synergies across the Operating Company. 

  • Lead capital investment decisions, capacity assurance via SIOP, forecasting review and demand planning, cost reduction assessment to achieve financial targets, and new product introduction transition from design to manufacturing. 

  • Accelerate talent management to ensure the continued development for direct reports. Partner closely with the human resources organization in developing organizational capabilities through succession planning, organizational assessment, identification of key skill gaps, talent acquisition and talent development strategies that link with business goals. 

  • Champion management effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, training, and coaching managers, and holding them accountable to their role as managers; Communicate values, strategies, and objectives; Assign accountabilities.

  • Proactively addressed issues, minimizing disruptions to operations and maintaining a resilient business environment. 

6.Cost Management: 

  • Successfully reduced operational costs through strategic planning, process optimization, and vendor negotiations. 

  • Implemented cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or customer satisfaction. 

7. Regulatory Compliance and process safety: 

  • Ensured operations adhered to all relevant company and industry regulations and standards, maintaining a strong focus on compliance and ethical business practices. 

  • Ensured process safety for the benefit of associates, community and the environment.

The essential requirements of the job include:  

  • Relevant Scientific/Engineering/Manufacturing/ Business degree 

  • 15 to 20 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Company Management in Pharma, Life Science, Diagnostics industry, within a lean manufacturing environment  

  • Demonstrated ability to lead global teams. 

  • P & L management and Business Development drive 

  • Multicultural mindset with a demonstrated ability to cultivate an inclusive culture keeping associate engagement and development at the heart of how the business wins as a team.
