About the VP Market Expansion role
We are seeking a VP Market Expansion to join our expanding team and play an integral part in our strategy as we continue to expand our global footprint to enable clients to issue cards in markets all over the world and fuel Thredd’s revenue growth. The VP Market Expansion will lead the strategy and execution of landing and expanding in key markets that align to client growth plans, drive new client opportunities, expand products and align to strategic partners.
What you will be doing as a VP Market Expansion
Industry Knowledge
- Integrating industry and market knowledge, competitive intelligence and emerging technologies into strategic planning and value proposition development
Planning and Operational Management
- Working closely with the CPO to develop and implement a global market expansion strategy that identifies the most optimal markets to land and expand across all regions, supported by a market fact base, business cases and alignment to Thredd strategic initiatives
- Leading cross functional GTM workstream supporting business transformation project launch requirements, working with all areas of the business to ensure market readiness
- Creating a best practice GTM playbook for landing and or expanding in new markets that encompasses all cross functional requirements
- Maintaining library of product capabilities by market, identifying gaps and creating execution plans to address, as needed
- Driving a plan to support and expedite porting of existing clients to new markets, with a primary focus on US market
- Leading commercialisation efforts to inform marketing facing teams and clients of requirements to enter new markets
- Leading launch requirements for LAC pilot in H2 of 2025, working with networks, BIN sponsors and pilot clients, with a primary focus on Mexico and Brazil
- Working with APAC regions to size expansion opportunities based on research
- Leveraging and optimising APAC and America studies already conducted to build market fact base and share insights with clients
Data & Reporting
- Initiating market research study for MEA region
- Establishing OKRs and tracking these on a quarterly basis
Quality & Controls
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to prioritise quality, ensuring that all processes and projects under the CPO’s responsibility meet the highest standards of excellence
- Identifying potential risks and challenges related to projects and initiatives. Developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise disruptions and ensure project success
Innovation & Design
- Implementing innovative and effective operational processes to ensure high-performance, agility and cost effectiveness
Strategic Impact
- Creating differentiation for Thredd through best in class market insights, go to market playbook, seamless porting to existing markets and guided new market expansion capabilities
- Becoming a strategic partner for Thredd clients by enabling expansion and growth across market, enabling retention and growth
- Expanding Thredd global footprint and opens up new product opportunities
- Contributing to rapid and ongoing Thredd revenue growth
What you will bring to the VP Market Expansion position
- Extensive experience working in the payments industry
- Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese and English
- Experience with strategy development and working with enterprise stakeholders to drive growth across international markets
- The ability to lead market research and intelligence gathering and analysing data to generate actionable insights to support decision making
- Experience working in and driving strategy across multiple global markets, with particular experience in the US and LAC region
- Familiarity with global and domestic card scheme and market entry requirements
