Anduril’s Legal Team seeks a VP, Compliance with a focus on the full spectrum of UAVs, AI, and robotics. This VP will be responsible for enhancing Anduril’s compliance initiatives in the context of continued hypergrowth. The executive will partner closely with customers, outside counsel, and business leaders across the organization including the executive leadership of supply chain, manufacturing operations, government contracting, T&E, EH&S, and information security.
Anduril is a fast-growing company in its early stages. Consistent with this rapid expansion, Anduril’s executives must be resourceful, creative, and eager to take ownership of complex matters. The VP, Compliance role requires ingenuity and adaptability to navigate the U.S. government’s broad set of compliance laws and regulations, with a singular focus on helping Anduril deploy its pioneering technology into operational settings for the United States and its allies. In addition to managing export/trade, aviation, spectrum, ethics, and data privacy compliance, this executive will contribute to all other aspects of Anduril’s business, including facilitating the supply chain, advising on product development, navigating cybersecurity and DCSA, and supporting international expansion. This role reports to the General Counsel.

What You'll Do: 

  • The VP, Compliance will take responsibility for significant, material projects that will have a substantial impact on the company’s business, as well as larger processes and strategic planning for the Compliance team.
  • Enhance, implement, and manage compliance policies and procedures, particularly those related to supply chain, operations, and trade as the business scales manufacturing.
  • Oversee regular compliance testing, assess findings, and address both strengths and deficiencies with Anduril’s stakeholders.
  • Manage Anduril’s activities related to various external audits.
  • Ensure regulatory filings, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and promptly
  • Strengthen the framework for evaluating and reporting potential threats or risks across all business units.
  • Facilitate practical strategies for risk mitigation, addressing root causes and potential consequences.
  • Maintain external compliance relationships with regulators, including those at State, Commerce, FAA, FCC, ATF and, in conjunction with business partners, EHS, DCMA, DCAA, DCSA, and local entities.
  • Ensure an effective compliance culture within the company, supported by leadership tone, clear expectations, monitoring, and escalation.
  • Facilitate and deliver training and awareness programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, develop, manage, and inspire a team of geographically dispersed compliance professionals to execute assigned responsibilities.
  • Monitor, assess, and implement emerging regulations relevant to defense technology.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years industry experience leading a global compliance function, ensuring adherence to international laws and regulations, including export controls, data protection, and government contracting requirements, with a focus on mitigating risks and fostering a culture of ethical business practices across all levels of the organization.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Hardware or the Aerospace & Defense Technology sectors, including all relevant compliance and regulatory matters, end-to-end supply chain, contracting, industry operations, GTM, and more.
  • In-depth knowledge of global trade compliance, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, FMS, and other import/export controls relevant to the Defense Technology space.
  • Expertise in customs and tariffs, sanctions and embargoes, anti-corruption and bribery, data privacy, ethics, and other critical compliance components.
  • Capable of operating successfully in a high growth, innovative company. Able to enhance and build a compliance program through a growth period.
  • Capable of providing operational and strategic leadership and mentorship to a global compliance team. Proven ability to foster a high-performance culture and attract/develop/retain top talent.
  • JD or equivalent degree preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) security clearances
  • Willing and able to travel at least 15% of time if based in CA and 50% if based in DC

US Salary Range

$248,000$372,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
