About the Role:Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain drug discovery experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to internal departments within the research & preclinical teams in addition to external partners (example: departments, expertise or processes). The Research team has a strong reputation in the industry for drug discovery.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

• Supporting a range of activities, including but not limited to validating & executing in vitro pharmacology assays, as well as learning basics in tissue culture and assay design

• Interacting with project team to learn various aspects of drug discovery in addition to relevance of collected data to this process

• Experience using modern automation, inventory systems, data analysis and informatics

• Enhancing skillset in communication, time management and organizational/interpersonal skills

• Accurate documentation of protocols with clear presented written summaries in addition to frequent verbal data summaries

• Collaborating with a mentor team of cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class

• Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion

Requirements:

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an interest in biotechnology

• Specific degree or field required: anything in basic sciences including pre-dental or pre-medical fields

• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required

• Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to think creatively and be a team player

• Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Bring to the Company a skill set complementary to its technology and development therapeutics

• Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more

• Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program

• Lab Work Requirements: Part-time or full-time
