Objective and Purpose:  

The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle to maximize financial performance and operational efficiency across supported dental practices. This role ensures the seamless management of billing, collections, and payment processes while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and enhancing the patient financial experience. 

The VP of RCM drives strategic initiatives, fosters collaboration with key stakeholders, and leverages innovative technologies to streamline processes and reduce inefficiencies. By building and leading high-performing teams, this role plays a critical part in achieving organizational goals, supporting practice growth, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the organization. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize the revenue cycle and achieve financial goals. 
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing revenue cycle management teams. 
  • Oversee the centralization of revenue cycle services, platforms, and processes to enhance efficiency and standardization. 
  • Identify and implement improvements in billing, coding, claims submission, and collections processes. 
  • Leverage and enhance technology platforms to drive automation and improve accuracy. 
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, payer policies, and legal standards. 
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve revenue cycle performance. 
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to align revenue cycle processes with organizational goals. 
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, insurance companies, and other stakeholders. 
  • Improve the patient financial experience by enhancing transparency and accessibility in billing and payment processes. 
  • Monitor and manage costs associated with revenue cycle operations to improve cost efficiency. 
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on revenue trends, payer performance, and collection rates. 
  • Lead change management initiatives related to revenue cycle improvements. 
  • Resolve payment disputes and ensure timely collections from payers and patients. 
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to standardize revenue cycle operations across supported practices. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred 
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in revenue cycle management, preferably in the dental, healthcare, or multi-location industry. 
  • In-depth understanding of the dental industry, including insurance billing, coding, collections, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams and manage cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Expertise in revenue cycle platforms, practice management software, and technology solutions; familiarity with systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus. 
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies to optimize revenue cycle operations and achieve financial objectives. 
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions. 
  • Experience leading large-scale change initiatives, such as centralizing services or implementing new technologies. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to executive leadership and collaborate with various stakeholders. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges. 
  • Thorough knowledge of industry regulations, payer requirements, and compliance standards, including HIPAA. 
  • Commitment to enhancing the patient financial experience and improving patient satisfaction. 
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics and the ability to manage budgets and control costs. 
  • Willingness to travel as needed to visit supported practices and attend meetings.
