Smartly is seeking a Vice President of Global Communications to develop and execute a global communications strategy that elevates our brand reputation and positions us as a leader in advertising technology.
This role will lead public and analyst relations, industry event programming, and integrated communications programs to increase Smartly's visibility among marketers, agencies, press, and key stakeholders.
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing & Communications, the ideal candidate is a self-starter who has a track record of developing and executing cross-functional communications initiatives that unify marketing and PR activities.
As the Vice President of Global Communications at Smartly, you will…
- Develop and lead Smartly’s global communications strategy, aligning with business goals and brand positioning.
- Act as the "quarterback" for global communications, setting and implementing strategies across internal and external channels
- Craft and deliver compelling narratives for diverse audiences (marketers, press, analysts, customers, internal teams).
- Lead communications for key initiatives and events (e.g., Cannes, CES, ADVANCE, Smartly’s Customer Summits).
- Set event investment and programming strategy, inclusive of speaker lineups, messaging, and promotion
- Build strong relationships with media, analysts, and industry influencers to secure coverage and promote Smartly’s leadership.
- Develop proactive media outreach strategies and serve as a spokesperson for Smartly, advising leadership on media and crisis communication.
- Lead internal communications, fostering alignment, transparency, and employee engagement.
- Mentor and lead a global communications team, ensuring high performance and alignment with business objectives.
We are looking for:
- 10+ years in communications, integrated marketing, public relations, or related fields, with a proven leadership track record in ad tech or SaaS.
- Experience executing high-profile events and driving brand awareness.
- Strong media and analyst relations, proven to generate impactful coverage.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for diverse audiences.
- Experience managing global teams and executing cross-functional communications programs.
- Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Crisis communication and reputation management experience.
Preferred:
- Experience in digital media and marketing technology.
- Advanced degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field.
The base pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual’s background, expertise, and experience in determining final salary.
