Role Overview
The Pave is seeking a Vice President of Finance join the Miami, FL office. The VP of Finance is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, historical reporting, forecasting, and key operating metrics tied to that strategy. The VP of Finance also oversees the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. This individual will ensure that all acquisition due diligence and valuation modeling is completed objectively and accurately while negotiating with an eye towards maximizing profit with minimal risk.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
    • Works with the CEO and COO to set financial strategy for the company.
    • Brings financial rigor and capital allocation mindset to all strategic decisions.
    • Ensures organic growth initiatives are profitable, constantly analyzes buy vs build decisions.
    • Develops and implements financial, banking, measurement, and tax strategies.
    • Leads risk management efforts by understanding and mitigating key elements of the company’s risk profile.
    • Manages capital request and budgeting processes.
  2. Management Reporting System
    • Establishes daily, weekly, and monthly reporting standards for operational, marketing, and human resource KPIs.
    • Develops actionable data analytics and data stacks or warehouses to support needed outputs.
    • Oversees lender reporting, managing credit agreements and covenants.
  3. Long- and Short-Range Planning
    • Develops 3-5 year strategic and annual operating plans (AOP), linking them to value creation and strategic initiatives.
    • Utilizes strategy maps for Board, Bank, Investor, and internal communication.
    • Aligns deal models, long-term plans, and forecasts to drive financial performance.
  4. Treasury Management Practices
    • Develops and maintains a 13-week cashflow forecast and negotiates bank and credit card fees.
    • Manages free cash flow conversion, working capital, and cash management practices.
  5. Standardizing Private Equity Reporting on Key Initiatives
    • Establishes a Project Management Office (PMO) for tracking key initiatives.
    • Implements standard reports, GAANT charts, and variance reporting to track progress.
  6. CFO and Related Team Development
    • Develops the Controller, FP&A, and Treasury leadership teams through regular meetings and peer networking.
    • Uses skip meetings with key departments (Accounting, Finance, IT, HR, and Operations) for indirect team insights.
    • Leads personnel management decisions with a focus on scorecards, interview processes, and team assessment.
  7. Compensation Systems as Part of the Management System
    • Designs incentive structures and compensation plans that link sales force ROI, marketing ROI, and individual compensation plans (ICPs) to performance outcomes.
  8. Communication Skills
    • Develops and executes communication strategies with the Bank, Board, investors, peers, and site-level leadership.
  9. M&A Integration
    • Leads current state assessments, financial onboarding, and post-acquisition integration for add-on and tuck-in acquisitions.
  10. Complex Construction Management
    • Manage complex multi-phase, multi-site project finances
    • Accurately track job profitability and perform variance analysis
  11. Accounting Excellence
    • Oversees process improvement, control implementation, accounting policies, closing processes, and tax and audit best practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required, CPA and MBA preferred.
  • 5 to 10+ years of progressively complex mid- and senior-management positions.
  • Private equity experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and unimpeachable business ethics.
  • Complete knowledge of and compliance with GAAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences, customers, and the Board.
  • Advanced decision-making ability based on financial and business analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic vision and growth plans for a multi-brand, multi-unit consumer services business.
  • Demonstrated experience driving organic growth through de-novo expansion, preferably in a private equity context.
  • Comfortable working in a high-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of leveraged capital structures, capital markets, and optimization of capital.
  • Strong financial acumen with a highly analytical mindset, using data and metrics for decision-making and translating data-driven plans into actions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and diplomacy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
