Real Chemistry is seeking an experienced Vice President of Client Services to lead and grow our Publications offering within our Med affairs team. This is a client facing leadership role focused on overseeing strategic publication planning and execution, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines, and delivering high-quality, data-driven scientific communications for our pharmaceutical and biotech clients. 

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead and drive the development of comprehensive medical publication strategies, ensuring alignment with clients’ scientific and business objectives. 

  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations at congresses. 

  • Guide clients on best practices for data dissemination, congress planning, and digital publication channels to maximize scientific impact. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Medical Affairs teams, key opinion leaders (KOLs), authors, and cross-functional stakeholders. 

  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to clients, providing expert counsel on scientific communications and evidence dissemination. 

  • Lead discussions with clients on data publication strategies, scientific platform development, and congress planning. 

  • Drive collaboration between medical writers, editors, and scientific experts to ensure the highest standards of publication excellence. 

  • Identify and drive organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to new business development efforts through RFIs/RFPs and strategic pitches. 

  • Manage revenue forecasting, profitability, and operational efficiencies across the Medical Affairs Publications team. 

  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and team scalability to support client needs and business growth. 

  • Monitor evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and digital innovations in scientific publishing to guide future strategy. 

  • Develop and manage team of direct reports within the account management discipline ensuring learning and development and career development goals for each individual are achieved

What you should have: 

  • 10+ years of experience in medical affairs communications and scientific publications, within the pharmaceutical or agency setting. 

  • Deep expertise in publication planning, congress strategy, and scientific data dissemination. 

  • Awareness and dedication to ICMJE and GPP 2022 guidelines 

  • Proven leadership in developing and executing publication strategies for pharmaceutical and biotech clients. 

  • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and team leadership. 

Pay Range: $210,000 - $240,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.  Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
