GCyber is hiring a Veritas Net Backup Administrator to support a mission critical program to enable the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) cloud-based intelligence sharing and collaboration capabilities across its mission partners.
As the Backup Administrator, you will manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support the backup environment consisting of RHEL Master/Media Servers. You will be responsible for installation, configuration, and testing of backups.
This position is full time onsite in Arlington, VA. Given the unique mission and classified nature of the work, there is no opportunity for hybrid or remote work arrangements.
As a Veritas Net Backup Administrator, you will:
- Responsible for the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the Veritas Net Backup application across multiple CESO Environments (Testing environments, unclassified and classified environments).
- Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms.
- Conduct periodic disaster recovery scenarios.
- Maintain backup policies and standards.
- Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
- Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers, and disk storage devices.
- Manage and execute complex databases backups, particularly in SQL and Oracle environments, to ensure data protection.
- Maintaining the appropriate DoD Cyber compliance level via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+, CND CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
- Installation and configuration experience with Windows Server 2019, RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 and higher
- 5+ years relevant experience (e.g., supporting MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux in DoD environments)
- 5+ years’ experience with Veritas NetBackup 8.x or greater
- 2+ years’ experience with VMware 7.x or greater
- Experience with Windows PowerShell and Bash shell scripting.
- Experience with NetBackup data protection and VMware Backup.
- Strong CLI skills
- Strong understanding TCP/IP communications.
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and willing to be a team player.
